Caring Cases is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 by Max Watchmaker, a Milwaukee teenager, and inspired by a similar effort in South Carolina called The Suitcase Project. During the pandemic, travel in the U.S. declined by 95%. Although the need for suitcases declined with travel, the need for foster children to have a way to carry their belongings remained. Caring Cases was started during the pandemic as a way to match the need of foster children with suitcases now less used.
